| Admin History | Abingdon Coroner's District was created in 1871. It was combined with Wantage District to form North Berkshire District in 1954. Many of the coroner's records were kept within the records of local solicitors and survival is very patchy. Case papers for the years 1901 to 1904, 1927-1929, 1931-1934 1936-1942 and 1944 have survived although not every year is complete. The papers were historically kept in alphabetical order by year and this arrangement has been maintained. |
