Admin HistoryThe Reading Coroner's District existed from 1846 until 1955. In 1955 it became part of the East Berkshire Coroner's District, which in 2004 became part of the Berkshire District. Only one inquest survives before 1930 (Louisa Gates, 1918). Reading Borough inquests, 1839-1912, can be found within the records of Reading Borough Council (R/JQ), with the later inquests from 1935 onwards under the Reading Borough Coroner's district (COR/RB).

The district includes the parishes of: Arborfield; Barkham; Beech Hill; Binfield; Burghfield; Clewer; Crowthorne; Earley; Easthampstead; Finchampstead; Grazeley; Mortimer; Newland; Pangbourne; Purley; Remenham; Ruscombe; St Nicholas Hurst; Sandhurst; Shinfield; Sonning; Sulham; Sulhamstead Abbots; Sulhamstead Bannister; Sunningdale; Sunninghill; Swallowfield; Tilehurst; Twyford; Warfield; Wargrave; Whistley; Windsor, Old; Winkfield; Winnersh; Wokingham with Woodley and Sandford.
