Admin HistoryThese documents relate mainly to the Wells family who inherited the advowson of Boxford Rectory from the Tassells in the early nineteenth century. The living was always held by a member of the family. The family at various times held other properties in and around Boxford and Reading. The presence of Norfolk and Suffolk deeds in the collection is accounted for by the connection with the Ventris family who held lands in Diss and Rickinghall.
