DescriptionD/ESB/Q1-27 Records relating to Windsor Independent Chapel.
This chapel was built in William Street, Windsor, in 1832, the congregation having previously met in Beer Lane and the High Street. See W H Summers, History of the Berkshire, South Bucks, and South Oxon Congregational Churches (Newbury 1905) for a brief history. The papers deposited here are those of the church's trustees, placed in the care of their solicitors, Messrs Darvill, Darvill & Last, later Last & Goodford. The Darvill family were members of the church. The church building was demolished in 1979. See also D/EX2636/1.
