Description | (The tunnel was discovered when the site for Merlin, the Associated Electrical Industries Research Reactor, was excavated. It was possibly from the old house, which was built in 1636. Willcocks was asked to visit the site and help date the brickwork. Includes extracts from early parish magazines, 1901-1902, relating to the history of Aldermaston, and onsite photographs of tunnel and brickwork, labelled, with plan showing where the photographs were taken from.) |
