TitleRecords of the Blagrave Estate, Reading.
DescriptionThe Blagrave family of Calcot Park, Tilehurst, owned large parts of central Reading, much of it let out in long leases. The records in this collection relate principally to the late 19th and early 20th century, and include details of the development of new residential areas in the later 19th century. Many of the leases (mostly for 80 years) were made on condition that the lessee build houses thereon. There are almost no title deeds.
