Description | [The Sisters of St Lucy were an Anglican nursing order founded in 1864 by Thomas Gambier Parry, in memory of his daughter Lucy. St Lucy's Hospital for Poor Children was built in 1866-1867, and provided free treatement for children. The order did not flourish, and by 1872 there were only three Sisters and the Community of St John Baptist took on the work, with two of the Sisters of St Lucy joining CSJB.] |
