| Admin History | [The Reading Rambling Club was formed on 7 February 1931 after the first ramble to Mortimer, attended by 14 members. At the first meeting, Mr J Knox was appointed Chairman and Miss [Gwen] Padbury was appointed Honorary Secretary. Although the Reading Rambling Club remained an independent club, it gained affiliations to other outdoor organisations, such as The Holiday Fellowship in 1931, The Ramblers Association in 1952, the Chiltern Society in 1966 and the Countrywide Holiday Association in 1974.
