TitleCatalyst: Reading's Magazine
DescriptionCatalyst was a local, non-profit magazine published in Reading between 1989 and 1991. It should not be confused with the American science publication Catalyst, established in 1982 and still in publication in 2022, or the anti-captitalist magazine of the same name published by the Jacobin Society, also in the United States, from c.2016.

Catalyst was produced by a small voluntary group from Park Hall, Palmer Park, later moving to Silver Street. It included what's-on listings and reviews of entertainment and arts events and activist events and groups, candid reviews of local pubs, interviews with local or visiting musicians/celebrities and local officials, and articles on local life and politics with a left-leaning, pacifist, green and sometimes anarchist bias. It was initially published fortnightly, moving to monthly in 1991.
