Admin HistoryThe Primitive Methodist society at Cookham Dean was in existence by 1838. Initially open-air camp meetings were held above the parish chalk pit. A room was provided in 1842 by the wealthy son of two of the elderly adherents, when the latter were unable to attend outdoor worship. The chapel was built in 1842 and rebuilt in 1857-8. It closed in 1972 and the premises were sold in 1975. Most of its worshippers were also associated with Queen Street Primitive Methodist Church, Maidenhead (D/MS 11).
