Admin HistoryThe Primitive Methodists were worshipping in Stratfield Mortimer in the mid 1830s, probably in a barn registered for religious worship in 1834, believed to have been in Simms Lane, and possibly in a house registered in 1833.

A chapel was built in Drury Lane, Mortimer, in 1867, and registered for worship in 1872. The church moved to a new hall in West End Road in 1956. The old church building was sold in 1971 but a separate trust continued to hold the burial ground there. A new church was built at the West End Road site in 1972.
