Miss E Winifred Matthews and her sister Mabel inherited the chapel from their aunt Sophie Kitson in 1937, and started the church in 1938. They gave the building to the Methodist Church in 1959, but Miss E W Matthews (the more active of the sisters) subsequently attempted to regain possession. |
