Admin History | Bracknell Baptist Church was formed in 1881 by a group of Calvinistic Baptists who had previously worshipped at Bracknell Congregational Church. They initially met at the Reading Room, The Terrace, Bracknell, the services being led by students from Spurgeon's College.
They were officially organised as a church in November 1886. The first church building in Rochdale Road, Bracknell, opened in 1892. Following its compulsory purchase in 1968 as part of the development of Bracknell New Town, a new church was built in Church Road, Bracknell. Rapid growth ensued, and between 1985 and 1989 worship took place at Wick Hill Hall. In November 1989 the church moved to the Kerith Centre, a new church large enough to seat 1,000, which was owned by a separate organisation, the Friends of Bracknell Baptist Church, on a site adjoining the previous church, and adopted the new name of Bracknell Family Church.
In 2000 the church's name was changed to Kerith Community Church. |
