| Admin History | Maidenhead Gas Light and Coke Company was incorporated in 1835. It was purchased in c.1923-1924 by the Uxbridge and Hillingdon Gas Consumers Company, the resulting business being renamed the Uxbridge, Maidenhead, Wycombe and District Gas Company in 1925. This was in turn absorbed into the North Thames Gas Board in 1949, following nationalisation of the industry. A few records in this collection relate to the later business.] |
