DescriptionEarlier minutes include information relating to the Thames Conservancy's jurisdiction over the lower river (until 1909) as well as upper. Includes reports from committees, annual accounts, information on works undertaken, legal proceedings including public inquiries, Bills and Acts of Parliament, annual accounts, general reports and other matters. The committees reporting to the Board included the Finance Committee (every Monday on the rising of the Board), Upper River Committee (alternate Mondays on the rising of the Board), Lower River and General Purposes Committee (every Wednesday), River Purification Committee (alternate Mondays on the rising of the Board) and Parliamentary Committee (as summoned). Also information relating to sub-committees such as the Dredging Sub-Committee. The post-1909 signed volumes include information on the five main Standing Committees, which are the Finance and General Purposes Committee, River Purification Committee, Works, Navigation and Regulation of Water Committee, Land Drainage Committee and Parliamentary Committee. Other committees include the Lock Staff Special Committee; Lock Staff Gardens Committee; Establishment Committee; Fisheries Special Committee; Thames Improvement Scheme Special Committee; Apportionments Special Committee on Estimated Expenditure (Conservancy and Land Drainage Funds); Civil Defence Special Committee; Towpaths Special Committee; Reading Offices Special Committee; Lock-keepers' and Ferryman's Welfare Committee and Water Resource Committee.
