Description | The committee was tasked with reporting to the Board measures taken for the prevention of pollution. The minute books primarily relate to reports of pollution along the river, works undertaken, and information relating to samples taken of effluents, etc. The earlier committee's powers extended the length of the river after the Thames Conservancy Act, 1866, which gave the Conservators powers over the whole of the river excluding London. The committee was reconstituted in 1909 and met monthly. See also D/TC/I3 for pollution legal proceedings and D/TC/I5 for sewage notices. |
