| Description | The date given is the year the register was valid. It was normally compiled the previous year. Between 1918 and 1926 and between 1945 and 1947 registers were published twice yearly. Registers were not published between 1914 and 1917, nor between 1940 and 1944, inclusive. The registers for 1851, 1852 and 1928 are missing from this series but for draft registers for 1928, see R/RE2/1/1-21.
