Description | SCH12/10/1-5 Snelsmore Farm Project [The Snelsmore Farm project was undertaken in 1970 as the winning entry in a national competition promoted by Shell and the Nature Conservancy (Shell's Conservation 1970 Competition). A team of sixth formers surveyed Snelsmore Common [in the parishes of Chieveley, Winterbourne and Shaw-cum-Donnington], and its animal and plant life, and created plans for the improvement of the area. A task force of volunteers (pupils, parents and friends) then carried out extensive clearance and conservation work on the common and laid out nature trails. See also SCH12/15/51.] |
