1 - Award by Thomas Englef[i]eld, serjeant at law, and Walter Luke, gentleman, arbitrators between the abbot and convent of Reading Abbey and the mayor and burgesses of Reading, concerning a dispute over the title to certain shops and 'standyngs' called the Flesh Shambles or Out-butchery, and an empty piece of ground between the common 'seage' of the gildhall and Minster Mill, and an empty piece of ground between the Fish Shambles [and] the east end of the Flesh Shambles, dated 18 November 17 Henry VIII [1525].
2 - Plea on behalf of the Corporation in answer to a quo warranto writ or information originally issued by Gilbert Gerrard, Attorney General, in [1562] concerning the Corporation's rights and privileges.
3 - Draft answer of the Corporation to a bill of complaint brought by Francis, Lord Holles, Robert Cage, esquire, John Jones, doctor of law, and Mary his wife, concerning the custody of the lease of the parsonage of Shinfield and chapel of Swallowfield (lease dated 1672 and held by the Corporation for safe custody).
4 - Order of the Corporation that the Town Hall should not be let to strolling stage players or puppet shows [to prevent corruption of youth and damage to the building], 21 December 1726.
