1 - Copy letters from the mayor to the bishop of Salisbury, complaining that a Mr Greenhill has been granted a licence by the bishop's chancellor to teach grammar in Reading, to the prejudice of the school, 13 June 1630, and from the mayor and burgesses to the bishop complaining that the latter has given Greenhill a contradiction of the inhibition granted against him at their behest.

3 - Letter from Sir Francis Windebank to the mayor and burgesses, conveying the king's desire that on the death or resignation of Andrew Byrd, the present schoolmaster, his post should not be filled without the approval of Archbishop Laud and the Bishop of Salisbury.
