TitleWroughton, Norris and Tipping papers
DescriptionManorial records, deeds and family papers of the Tipping, Wroughton and Norris families of Woolley Park, Chaddleworth, Billingshurst (Sussex) and Hughenden (Buckinghamshire).)

This important collection is notable for its lack of manorial records, the whereabouts of which were unknown in 1950, although it was thought they might then be in the hands of Messrs Morland of Abingdon, stewards of the estate in the early 19th century.

With the exception of a few outlying properties in Buckinghamshire, Essex and Sussex, the estate was remarkably compact. The documents relate to a number of parishes in the vicinity of Newbury, and include an important, if small, series of medieval charters of Thatcham.

One of the most important groups of papers is that relating to enclosure (D/EW/E8-12 and P24). A number of parochial records were also found with these papers.
